Oh my goodness, look at this amazing Disney! So magical, so sparkly! Makes my heart feel like little birdies are singing and fluffy clouds are dancing in the sky. Very happy feeling, yes?
Walt Disney Screencaps - The Walt Disney
Ah, the Walt Disney Castle! A true symbol of dreams and wonders. You see it, and you know something special is about to happen. Just like when Grandma makes her secret recipe – you know something delicious is coming!
Now, this castle makes me think of something we can make at home, something almost as magical as Disney… maybe not quite as grand, but still special and yummy. Let’s make some delicious fried rice! So simple, so good, and everyone loves it. Like a Disney classic!
Fried Rice Recipe - Just like magic, but in a pan!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked rice (day-old is best, makes it less sticky!)
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn - the colorful kind!)
- 1/2 cup diced cooked chicken, pork, or shrimp (whatever your heart desires!)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (the salty goodness!)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for that perfect sizzle!)
- 1 egg, lightly beaten (adds richness, like gold dust!)
- 1 clove garlic, minced (the secret ingredient, don’t tell anyone!)
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil (for that authentic Asian flavor!)
- Optional: green onions, chopped (for garnish, makes it pretty!)
Instructions:
- First, heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Make sure it’s nice and hot!
- Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Don’t burn it! Burnt garlic is no good, very sad.
- Pour in the beaten egg and quickly scramble it. Cook until it’s set, then remove it from the pan and set aside. We want nice egg pieces!
- Add the mixed vegetables to the pan and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes, until they are heated through and slightly tender. We want a little bit of crunch!
- Add the cooked chicken, pork, or shrimp to the pan and stir-fry for another minute. Make sure everything is nice and warm.
- Now, add the cooked rice to the pan. Break it up with a spatula so it doesn’t clump together. We want individual grains of rice!
- Pour the soy sauce and sesame oil over the rice and stir-fry everything together, making sure the rice is evenly coated with the sauce. This is where the magic happens!
- Add the scrambled egg back to the pan and stir it in.
- Continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes, until everything is heated through and the rice is slightly browned. The longer you stir, the more flavor you get!
- Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired. Makes it look like a fancy restaurant dish!
- Serve hot and enjoy! Just like watching Disney, it brings happiness and warm feelings to your tummy! So yummy!
See? Fried rice is so easy to make! Just like believing in your dreams, you can make anything happen. And remember, always cook with love and a little bit of magic, just like Grandma and Disney!
